12.16.03 [continued] In this year of a weird and fluctuating economy, ongoing war with those crazy people in the Middle East, and a band trying to find its place in a very crippled music industry, this band has soldiered on with mucho success, dedication and perserverance to find itself strongly planted in a comfortable and lucrative lifestyle and way of life. It's because of you guys that we have done this. Albeit, the band has worked its butts off keeping the Rock torch lit with the release of Stereo and 3, yes, 3 albums to boot, in the course of a year, but it is you that is the voice in the streets and everywhere else we ourselves cannot be. So sometimes you may ask yourself, "Is all this crusading working?" Guess what? Your answer is a big YES....The music-loving public, critics, music biz heads, and many people alike are taking notice of what we have accomplished on our own. We feel very confident, if not sure, that a very important deal and shot at the big one is right around the corner. But let's step back for a second here... As you might or might not know, record labels are not doing much of sh** nowadays because of the imminent change of the way we listen, perceive and buy (or not) music. They are no longer willing to take a chance on an unknown band and spend bukoos on them with no guarantee of a return. They are now looking for bands with educated knowledge and experience of what it takes to go the extra mile, a strong fanbase, and a strong and consistent showing of independent record sales and interest. That, paired with the new record the band is now working on due out for spring '04, and we can't think of a better candidate for the next level. US!! With that in mind, now is the time to keep making big noise to anyone who will listen or wants to feel "loved"...mmmm...warm...Spread the love, kill the hate, and keep on calling up your fave radio stations (KLBJ, Austin Music Network, the BUZZ, EDGE Eagle, etc.) and tell them you want to hear some Vallejo. If they say they don't know about it, fill 'em in...most of the time they just don't know...and even if they don't spin it, they will know that we're out there at their back door. Presence is a good thing, even if they can't see or hear us, they soon will... One place we will definitely be heard and seen will be New Year's Eve at the Vibe on 6th street with our superfriends: Pushmonkey, Ultrasonic and Canvas. The venue is indoor-outdoor, so our music will be blasting thru the streets of Austin where pretty much everyone will be. There will be no escaping Vallejo on this night. Please make plans to come out and join us and if you can't then we'll see you soon. Also, be sure to get all the new stuff we're putting out as we will be playing most of all of it in the coming shows, especially the stuff off of Black Sky. So get these now and get your Vallejo on and learn all the words so we can all sing along. You don't want to get caught with your pants down....the sick thing is that some of you probably do...
